I Will Remember sends newsletters about new features of interest to members no more than once a month. You may opt out of these updates and change your privacy preferences at any time. Your "Email Notification Settings", can be accessed from the "Settings" link located at the top right hand side of most pages in the members area.

Any visitor of the iwillremember.ca website can view your greeting name (your first name and last initial) and photos that you have uploaded to the iwillremember.ca community. You can control how your greeting name appears by modifying your information in your "settings" page.

The over-riding principles we apply are these:

We, will not supply your personal data to a third party for commercial exploitation except as consented to by you in accordance with prevailing law.

Registration Information. Once a Member selects a location, some or all of the information held for that Member, except for the email address, full last name, any telephone numbers and passwords, will be publicly available at the listing for that location.

Your home location, in terms of your town / city, state / county and country, and any other location specific information you submit to I Will Remember Services must be considered at all times to be publicly available information. However, if specific address details are submitted to I Will Remember Services (such as your full postal address) they are not made publicly available.

Email addresses. We do not directly make your email address available to anyone on any screen of I Will Remember Services. The only legitimate way of making contact with a person found on I Will Remember Services is for a Member to enter a message into a contact form which we will then send on that Member's behalf. The email sent will include the senders name in the form of a "greeting name" (full first name and last initial) and their email address so that the recipient can respond to the sender directly. This means by sending a message, the sending Member is disclosing his/her full email address. Members may change their email address at any time by clicking on "Your Email Address", once confirming their password, which is accessible from the Settings page found at the top right of most pages within the Members Area when logged on to I Will Remember Services.

Un-validated Memberships. If you register I Will Remember Services, and you receive a validation email, but fail to validate your Membership then we may contact you via email at periods of 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days at your registered email address to notify you of the invalid status. Should you fail to respond to these notifications then we may send you one final notice before the un-validated Membership is removed.

Advertising. I Will Remember Services may include interactive advertising for other businesses. We may use, and provide to third parties, anonymous demographic data provided by Members to target this advertising more appropriately.

Emails. We send regular and occasional emails. Members can determine whether to receive certain emails from their "Email Notification Settings" which can be accessed via the Settings page, found at the top right of most pages within the Members when logged into the I Will Remember Service.

Credit Card information. There has been a lot of publicity about Credit Card security on the Internet so to ensure we provide the highest level of security at all times, we have employed the use of PayPal to handle all financial related information. Note that Members' financial information (which includes credit or debit card information) is not stored by I Will Remember in any form; be electronic or otherwise. I Will Remember companies and subsidiaries. We may share data supplied by you (or collected about you) with our subsidiaries and other companies owned by us, but only for the purposes described in this policy.

Changes in I Will Remember's business. If all of the assets which I Will Remember uses to operate its business (or substantially all of them) are acquired by a third party, we may transfer personal data we then hold to that party.

Place of processing. The personal information held by us is held on and processed by computers situated in the United States or in Canada.

When you use I Will Remember Services, you may perform searches and queries, create memorial, post messages and transmit information through various channels. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalized features. In most cases, we retain it so that, for instance, you can return to view memorials viewed in prior visits. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.

You post User Content (as defined in the I Will Remember Terms and Conditions) on the Site at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post on the Site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.

I Will Remember may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of the iwillremember.ca service through the operation of the service in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.

When you register to I Will Remember Services, you can create your own profile and determine your own privacy settings. Your greeting name (your first name and last initial) are displayed to people in throughout the Site to enable you to connect other members of iwillremember.ca. We may occasionally send you notifications regarding new services offered by iwillremember.ca that we think you may find valuable, unless indicated otherwise in your email notification settings.

Your Profile information is used by iwillremember.ca primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the service and to be presented to others.

Your greeting name will appear in "update and additions" feeds and may aggregate the information you provide and make it available to other members.

We have security measures in place to protect our customer database and access to this database is restricted internally. However, it remains each Member’s responsibility:

You may have your registration details removed at any time. To remove yourself, please contact us via our online form, located here, and request the removal of your profile from our services.

If Members elect to permit I Will Remember to search email addresses held within their email service provided by third party ISPs on their behalf and click on "Import My Email Addresses", they accept that by doing so, an email invitation will be sent on their behalf, to the relevant email address. In addition, if Members click on "Notify Family and Friends" or from any other link on the I Will Remember website, and submit email addresses of their contacts to view any I Will Remember Services, they accept that by doing so, an email invitation will be sent on their behalf, to the relevant email address. By inviting their contacts to view any I Will Remember service, the Member agrees that they have obtained prior consent from their contacts (a) to send them such an invitation and reminder, and (b) to allow the other action referred to in this Clause.

We reserve the right to communicate a Member's personal information as we hold to third parties which seek the disclosure of it, and which make a legally-compliant request for its disclosure.
